A girl can dream.
The colors in this drawing were inspired by the colors of the 3D-cards in the Dutch ‘Pukkie Planta’ book series (an ad campaign from the 1950’s). For some reason, I just love the style of these cards. And the red-blue contrast in these cards made me think of the hot and cold contrast. Below, you can see an example of one of the original 3D-cards.
I read about Pukkie Planta in ‘Zone 5300’, a magazine about ‘Comics, Culture and Curiosities’ (‘Strips, Cultuur en Curiosa’). Below, you’ll find an example of one of the original 3D-cards. Freaky, right.
